Brantley's "All Boy" Nursery

UPDATED 3/26/15 with new links!

I have been wanting to really start a family blog for a while now and I thought doing a post about Brantley's nursery would be the best way to get started. I have recieved numerous comments on my baby Brantley's nursery (who is now 3 months old and cute as ever!) and while I did not do hardly any of the work, thank God for father in laws and husbands who are handy! I did Pinterest my little heart out and actually came up with some ideas of my own. Overall, it turned out exactly how I had pictured and here are the pictures! Complete with links to different websites that I used for inspiration and how-to's. Enjoy... I know I do everytime I go in there (:

The rustic looking frames are from Hobby Lobby. We used burlap to back this one and then nails to wrap the rope around for the clothespins to clip onto. It was perfect for his progressive ultrasound pictures!

This frame was backed with burlap and a piece of plywood so that I could hot glue the wooden letters that I found here http://www.craftcuts.com/painted-wooden-letters.html . This is the URWWOODTYPD font. The wall hooks are Willow House, which is not around anymore. But I have used plant hangers from Home Depot for other rooms and they work just as well and can be painted with Rustoleum spray paint to go with the room's decor.

The accent wall is made from shipping pallets! Here is an awesome blog with the how-to on the pallet wall. http://www.bowerpowerblog.com/2010/02/nursery-news-accent-wall/

I used to carry a sheepskin around when I was little so Brantley had to have one in his nursery! I think he will really enjoy it throught the years too! I found one here http://www.overland.com/Products/RugsCarSeatCovers-1156/RugsCowhides-1200/SheepskinRugs-1157/SingleAustralianSheepskinRugwithLongWool/PID-86002.aspx .

The curtains are chocolate brown blackout panels from Restoration Hardware. They are no longer available, but I did find these that are almost identical at Target. I actually like these better because of the longer length. And my father in law built the awning from wood and tin bought at Home Depot. The tin was really shiny when we bought it but he spray painted it with a grey paint to take the shine off. We were really happy with the result.

The dresser was my father in laws when he was little. He distressed it for us and put on new knobs. There are a  lot of great websites out there that show you how to do this. I think we used one that I found on Pinterest. We bought a topper from Restoration Hardware so that it could be used as a changing table. The clothes are hanging from a shower curtain tension rod that I bought at Target. Don't worry! It's really tight up there... not going anywhere (:

A lot of the other things we used in his nursery were found at HomeGoods... love that place! Leave me a comment if you want to know about anything that I left out! I look forward to sharing our lives with you all (:

    1. I had it made. I just went to the fabric store, my favorite place, and found the plaid that I liked. I used the plaid to pull the browns from. I went with a chocolate minky dot for the inside of the crib bumber and a burlap tan fabric for the crib skirt. I bought some of the soft blue crib sheets from Target too. I hope this helps!

The lamp was a yard sale find, believe it or not! The wood letters are a western font, I think!

  8. I just learned that I am having a boy. After searching for awhile for boy nursery ideas, yours was the only idea wherein my husband actually said he liked that! Thanks for posting all the pictures and information. We are going to essentially copy what you did ;-)
